The Tiburon Heritage and Arts Comission requested a proposal for an art and/or historical project to decorate a blank wall on the old railroad trail park in Tiburon.  CALuso board members presented and proposed a tile mural for the wall and comissioned renowned Azorean artist, João de Brito, to create a rendering of the Tiburon Del Mar School while it was still a Portuguese Dairy Farm (pictured above).  The then President of Portugal, Hon. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, participated in the project groundbreaking in September 2022.   The overall project included traditional Portuguese "calçadas" (limestone cobblestones) as well as "azulejos" - Portuguese ceramic tiles with the artwork of João de Brito hand drawn on the tiles in Portugal before being fired. The ribbon cutting was attended by dignitaries from the Regional Government of the Azores, and the Portuguese Department of State.  The site is dedicated with historical markers explaning the relevance and contributions of the original Portuguese Dairy Farmers to the Town of Tiburon's history.
