Key Details
@SFJAZZ WED, SEP 6 · 7PM MINER AUDITORIUM Camané is one of Portugal’s greatest proponents and interpreters of fado (fate), the passionate and melancholy music originally sung by early 19th century sailors in the brothels and bars of Lisbon. One of the few prominent male singers in the genre whose popularity has surged with the emergence of contemporary artists like Ana Moura and Mariza, Camané established his bona fides singing in fado clubs and theatrical revues since his late teens.
